What is a Brazilian Wax?

The Brazilian wax takes off every last hair on top, in the middle and in between your cheeks. It is the complete removal of hair in the genital area leaving you clean and smooth.

Brazilian appointments are super fast, taking between 15 – 20 minutes to complete (depending on the amount of hair to be removed). Fast is good – trust us on this one.

How should I prepare for my wax appointment?

The better prepped you are for your wax appointment the better the results will be.

  1. Follow our recommended guidelines for minimum post-shave time to ensure we can get all the unwanted hair out.
  2. If you are having an intimate wax and haven’t groomed in a while, trim with scissors. Hairs that are longer than 1/2 ” can make the waxing session more uncomfortable.
  3. The night before, exfoliate the area to be waxed to remove any build-up of dead skin cells.
  4. If possible, take a warm shower prior to your appointment to open up your pores.
  5. Wear loose comfortable clothing.
  6. Avoid caffeinated beverages a few hours prior to your service so you are as calm and relaxed as possible.
  7. Taking an over-the-counter pain reliever 45 minutes before your appointment can reduce inflammation and discomfort.
  8. Inform your Wax Tech of any medical conditions, medications, anti-acne products or new tattoos or piercings.
How should I care for my wax treatment to prolong the results?

By following our recommendations you will get the most from your waxing appointment:

  1. Prior to your appointment, follow our suggested steps to ensure the best results. (see FAQ above)
  2. Do not shower or bath for at least 8 hours after your treatment and keep the area free of lotions and creams that can irritate the area.
  3. Avoid tanning and sun exposure for at least 2 days after your appointment.
  4. The day after your wax gently exfoliate with a dry brush to manually slough off the skin before showering. Do this daily to prevent and treat ingrown hair.
  5. Do NOT shave. Shaving undoes all the wax training we’ve done with the hair to ensure it grows back finer and sparser.
  6. Wax every 4 – 5 weeks to maintain your clean look and weaken the follicle to lessen hair regrowth.
When is waxing NOT an option?

We take your health, comfort level and safetly seriously. We will not wax you if:

  1. You have an open wound or cold sore that we are not able to wax around.
  2. You are currently taking a daily dose of Accutane or have been off Accutane for less than one year.
  3. You are on blood thinning medications or have blood-related diseases such a hemophilia.
What should I expect during my Brazilian Wax appointment?

First, let us assure you, your comfort, safety and dignity are our top priorities. If at any time you feel uncomfortable or awkward, let us know.

Your trained, licensed Wax Specialist will introduce herself, run through the paperwork and annswer your questions before beginning. You will be shown to a private room where you will disrobe from the waist down, Your specialist will clean the treatment area to remove any oils or lotions. Next, a soothing pre-wax oil will be applied to protect your skin. Warm wax is then applied to the treatment area and removed in a quick motion to pull the hair from the follicle. Finally, your Wax Specialist will rejuvenate the area by gently applying our deluxe after-care products to help prevent ingrown hair and calm the skin. After the appointment, your Wax Speciaist will also give you some home care tips.

Does a Brazilian Wax hurt?

The term we most often hear is “sting” to describe a Brazilian Wax. It’s a bit like ripping a band-aid off quickly – the pain is short and temporary. Our trained technicians use only the best hard and soft wax, and after-care products to ensure all unwanted hair is removed safely and as comfortably as possible.

How long before hair starts to grow back?

Everybody’s hair grows at a different rate so we can’t say for sure that a Brazilian Wax will last you a specified amount of tiime. On average, most clients see minor outgrowth after about two weeks. As you keep up a regular waxing schedule your hair will grow back much slower and finer. You will be able to go longer between appointments and the appointments themselves will be quicker.
